I. INTRODUCTION

The United States is engaged in negotiating a judgments-recognition convention subject to the auspices of the Hague meeting for consultation on Private International Law.(1) The questions that pres on our negotiators(2) are what form of treaty to strive for and what concessions of United States interests are appropriate in order to obtain international agreement.
